Halloween Peg People
As a little gift for my children and to add some decoration, I pulled out some of the peg people I bought for the purpose of painting storybook characters. A little acrylic paint, some polyurethane coating, and I had eight Halloween peg people: werewolf, skeleton, vampire, witch, Frankenstein's monster, scarecrow, mummy, and ghost.
Make Your Own Lip Balm
Making lip balm has been on our to do list for a while now. Last month I finally ordered some little pots, and today the kids decided it was time. We pulled out the box of essential oils, our various oils and butters, and got to work. We experimented a bit and came up with... Continue Reading →
Saying Goodbye to White America

In a month voters will flock to the polls in order to vote for the candidates they think will best serve as our representatives, including the person they think will best serve as our country's president. This recipe makes a nice chunky (or process for smooth) applesauce with a pleasant sweat tarness. Slow... Continue Reading →

Spring Baskets
When I originally bought these baskets, I thought they were cute and sweet, and oh-so Pottery Barnish at a fraction of the price. Then I spent years trying to store them, wishing I had merely made fabric baskets like our Halloween trick or-treat bags which could be easily folded and packed away. This year I... Life Gets in the Way
In the past few months, I have been guilty of not doing something I had every intention of doing, and then uttering to someone that "life gets in the way." I've been stressed out. In fact, last month I was so stressed out that I could feel the stress buzzing through my body, I broke... Continue Reading →
Houzz Remodels
I've been checking out houses on Realtor.com a lot lately. Part of it is reconnassiance: checking out how much house you get around the country, what is available, how much land we can expect to purchase, etc. Part of it is fun. Part of it is to be prepared. We purchased this house 7 1/2... Continue Reading →
