Touching Up Paint

As I continue to finish those unfinished projects laying about my home, I've been touching up paint around the house. I am amazed at how much a little touch up paint improves the way my home looks and feels.

My Bath Buddy

For a while, I've been able to enjoy a relaxing bath to myself, at least for a little while. Those days are gone for now. A couple of weeks ago, my 11 month old stood at the edge of the tub as I climbed in. However, instead of playing with toys for just a few... Continue Reading →

The Wisdom of Your Child’s Face

I found Jean Haner's book, The Wisdom of Your Child's Face: Discover Your Child's True Nature with Chinese Face Reading, to be extremely well written. Her stance on understanding your child and their perspective is one which readily fits with consensually living philosophies. However, I just couldn't take the book seriously. Chinese face reading seems... Continue Reading →

Compassion is not a Convenience

While viewing a lake at a local park, my children and I spotted something not too far off the shore, gasping. Just under the surface, I saw the signs of landscaping net, and I knew what had happened. Some of the landscape netting had made its way into the lake, where a poor, unsuspecting fish... Continue Reading →

After giving a psychic reading to a classmate, she realizes that something more... Continue Reading →

Planning a Vacation

We are going on vacation this year. We haven't been on a real vacation (you know, one that didn't have a funeral involved) in four years, and that one was wrought with morning sickness, a horrible cold for everyone, and my husband on his cell phone with work. I can clearly remember walking through some... Continue Reading →

Mothering Peter Pan

I watched at the park as my eight year old, clad in sandals, a green polo, and khaki, charcoal, and white plaid shorts, took a soaring leap onto an oversized log. I was struck with his resemblance to Peter Pan as he flew through the air in his green. Childhood is as limitless as we... Continue Reading →

A Long, Long Sleep

Fairy tales have always held a special place in the lives of people, and recent young adult literature is no exception. Anna Sheehan's A Long, Long Sleep, to be released this coming August, is yet another in a popular genre. Woken with a kiss, or rather a misguided attempt at mouth to mouth resuscitation, after...
