Our Experience
Straws have always been a hit at my house. My children love using them. However, using straws used to mean straws going out with the garbage, leaving considerable guilt behind. I debated using glass straws for a long time. Would reusable straws really get clean? Would they be harboring germs for the next time they were used? Would the break, throwing the investment in the trash?
I have to say, since switching to glass straws, I am now in love them. Strawesome sells cleaning brushes made to clean their glass straws. Many of the sets even come with a free brush. With just a few seconds and a few drops of dish soap, the straws come clean right away. Even left to sit overnight from smoothies, the straws have come clean with virtually no effort (unfortunately, they don’t magically come clean by themselves). Because it is glass, you can see that the brushes are cleaning any gunk left behind.
The straws are durable, surviving use by multiple children. If something ever does happen, I feel confident knowing that Strawesome has a lifetime guarantee. Plus, getting rid of any mom-guilt of saying no to straws or tossing them in the landfill? Priceless!
