Blogs aren’t carbon neutral – no more so than internet usage itself is carbon neutral. While we are bumbling about, turning off extra lights, recycling as much as we can, planning our trips to better accomodate our ever-increasing gas prices, we seldom stop to think about how our internet usage is also costing energy and resulting in carbon emissions.
The Make it Green! initiative headed up in Germany by kaufDA is trying to make a difference. In coordination with the National Arbor Day Foundation, they will plant one tree for every blog who posts about the initiative. It’s free for you. Just blog and let them know. They will have the Arbor Day Foundation plant a tree in the Plumas National Forest in Northern California. Recyle Bills even checked the company out.
