There are multiple variations of phrases behind this meaning. The bottom line is that our children learn more from what they observe us do then they ever could from what we say concerning how they should interact with the world around them. What we model has a profound effect on how our children will grow up and handle situations. My goal is to live my life authentically, with clarity about what it is I value and believe in. I want to be true to myself, rather than being inauthentic in an attempt to fit in. When I make mistakes, I accept ownership of those mistakes. I am honest with my children. They are not the only ones on their journeys to learn about life. I have my own journey to make and learn from.
