We are in the midst of pumpkin carving today. It began last night. For some reason, my children seem to think that we must make intricately carved pumpkins, despite the fact that both my husband and I suggested that they draw simple designs or go with the old standard trinagle eyes and nose.
Life doesn’t always have to be so complicated. In trying to achieve perfection, we often miss out on the enjoyment of life. So today, I will offer support and limited involvement as they continue working on their pumpkins. I will not, however, find myself alone in the kitchen, carving intricate designs onto pumpkins, as happened a couple of years ago.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
