I always try to wish people a good day and smile even if I don’t feel like it.
I send out lots of baked goods. Yummy treats always brighten others’ days.
My daughter and I visit with the mail-lady as she drops things in our neighborhoods box – we’ve become friends!
I smile at the people I pass at the mall or the stores. I also try to let people into traffic ahead of me.
One of the things I like to do is donate money unexpectedly to an individual who is truly in need.
Another thing I do, this time of year, is buy a bunch of Starbucks gift cards and give them out to my local policemen, firefighters, and to anyone that displays any niceness to me at all during the holidays!

I make a point to let people cut in front of me if I have a ton of stuff and they have one or two items.
I go to school meetings with parents of students with learning differences and try to help them get the support that they need.
I like to create toys and scarves and donate them to the Police Department so they have them in their cars when the come across someone who could really use a smile or warm wrap.

I always give someone in the ALDI parking lot my cart and a shopping bag or 2. It is nice to see unexpected smiles. Thank you for such a nice giveaway!
I helped a lady push her car off of a main road and onto a side road after she stalled out on monday. No one else cared to stop. it was crazy! I also like to send small, NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) sized clothing to people who have had a preemie, or micropreemie. I’m working on making a whole bunch to send to the NICU where my son was born 6 years ago.
My 4-year old daughter and I love to drop coins along the sidewalk and then make up stories about the magical fairies who may deliver the coins to someone that needs it the most. I love impromptu generosity!

To brighten the lives of others… I think little things are actually huge. I try to buy little things for people, just so they know I care. I’ve brought random flowers to a friend because I knew she was having a hard week. I gave some chocolate to a co-worker yesterday just because. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. The best gifts are unexpected ones, no matter their cost.
I try to take on extra work to lighten other people’s loads – in volunteer work I’ll offer to do less desirable tasks, in carpool I try to take an extra day, etc.

I hold the door open for people behind me. I will wait for someone to get to the door if they are using a cane or walker to help them get inside of a store.
I try to look at people and smile at them. I know it helps me when I am having a bad day to have someone smile at me!
Lately I’ve just been smiling at people. It’s funny how grumpy a person looks (myself included), but a smile can make such a difference. I love to see the change when people return the smile! 🙂

I like to babysit for friends this time of year so they can get shopping in.
I do most of my quilting for charity, although it kind of embarrasses me to mention it. I know people who do so much more. Merry Christmas!
I make quilts for people I will never meet (this side of heaven). Thank you for the give away.
I do charity knitting, but my favorite when I have some extra money is to pay for the person behind me in line at a coffee or fast food joint.
I habitually send love and healing energy to those near and far. I feel like the more love people can give, the more we receive in return. It just feels good to know that even if you don’t have much money or material goods to give, you can give what people really need!
I try to be a good example for my always watching daughter. This means holding the door for others, putting the shopping cart left in the lot back, and most importantly, Smile!

I make flower arrangements for people
My mother has been told often that her beautiful garden (her house is on a corner lot) brightens the lives of the passers-by (random people come ring the doorbell to tell her that). As for me… I compliment people whenever I like anything at all about them – seems natural to me, but I’ve had enough comments from friends (including one who says she misses me when I’m gone because there’s nobody to tell her how adorable she looks every day) that I realize that’s not that common these days, even in Texas!
