10 Days of Real Food Challenge

I began a new yeast cleanse a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been in a cycle of stress, fatigue, anxiety, stress, etc. for a while – all signs of internal yeast overgrowth. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it very far before my stress level spiked again and I was turning to my vices, Diet Pepsi and sugary treats, further enabling the yeasty cycle. Going from my current state to sugar free was proving more difficult than my stressed out self was ready to handle.

Then I heard about the 10 Day Challenge and decided to go for it. It’ssimilar to how we were eating and a baby step to my yeast cleanse. Our family is starting on April 1, 2012 to get us back on track, with a few changes for our allergy issues. We’ll be enjoying fruits and vegetables, whole gluten free grains, some of our remaining locally raised meat from our deep freezer (which I’m trying to clear out), nuts, and only natural sweeteners like maple syrup and fruit juice. We felt better when we were eating like that and I’m looking forward to getting back on track.

  1. Yay for you and your family. I hope you are encouraged by the results. If you’re eating cocoa, maple syrup, almonds, sea salt and coconut oil, I have a delish recipe for a dessert I can share. It’s my new favorite!

  2. I”m looking forward to the challenge. I”m doing a lot of prep work now trying to get organized so we won’t have any ‘bad’ foods handy. I think I’ll learn a lot through it.
    Laura- I’d love the recipe!!
